Open Fit
This style has become very popular since it hit the market. One main advantage includes greater comfort due to the
small, sleek hearing instrument design that attaches to ultra-thin, almost invisible tubing and soft, comfortable tips that are inserted into your ears.
They are less noticeable than traditional behind-the-ear hearing aids. They're effective for people with mild to moderate high
frequency hearing loss, which matches many of the boomers!
Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC)
This style offers the ultimate in concealment. Newer, more modern, circuit technology has
advanced certain CIC instruments to perform better in a multitude of listening situations.
For instance, digital CIC hearing instruments reduce whistling as a result of wind noise in
many different social settings because the hearing aid is closer to the eardrum. It also means
that less amplification is needed to fit a broader range of hearing impairments.
In-the-Canal (ITC)
This style offers more concealment. ITC hearing aids fit down in the canal of the ear and
they are relatively unnoticeable. Today's technology allows this type of hearing aid to
meet a broad range of hearing loss needs.
In-the-Ear (ITE)
This style is custom made to fit in your ear with no wires or tubes coming out of the ear.
ITE hearing aids allow for a comfortable fit and will meet a wide variety of hearing impairments.
Behind-the-Ear (BTE)
This style places the circuitry and microphone behind the ear. BTE hearing aids meet a wide range
of hearing needs and frequently are used for more severe hearing impairments or steeply sloping
hearing impairments where air ventilation is required.
