Do you have Tinnitus or ringing in your ears?

Tinnitus, a debilitating disorder, affects more than one-sixth of the U.S. population and millions more worldwide. At Audiology & Hearing Aid Center, we are heading an effort in ¬†Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Paradise Valley to inform business professionals about Tinnitus, its causes, the growing number of cases annually and today’s high tech treatment options.

Audiology experts and physicians are seeing an alarming trend upward in the number of people developing Tinnitus, which is personally devastating and dramatically affects employees in the workplace. Many physicians do not recognize this disorder in their patients and send them away with little hope. Many people suffering from Tinnitus do not know or understand what is happening to them. Tinnitus often is associated with hearing loss, depression and even suicidal tendencies in some people. It is a workplace issue that is growing in magnitude every day.

The goal of the Tinnitus initiative is to share what is known about tinnitus, which affects more than 50 million Americans and their families and friends in this country, and to discuss the many treatment options now available to treat this debilitating disorder. This problem seems to be accelerating at a rapid pace and afflicts today’s workforce in many ways, from productivity and absenteeism to depression and distraction.

The Audiology & Hearing Aid Center’s leadership effort is supported – and will be complemented by – the American Tinnitus Association, the non-profit organization, which seeks to raise funds for research find a Tinnitus cure.
